Hallowell Business Gets New Lease On Life, And It's Delicious

Great news for another local business that almost was no longer. What use to be know as Boynton's Market for some 80+ years was sold almost a year ago to a couple that hoped to breath new air in to the business. However, due to the covid business climate of 2020, it was only a few months before the Ciccarelli couple decided they needed to sell.

According to centralmaine.com, trying to keep the market alive with a gelato twist just wasn't working. The couple of Michelangelo and his wife Elizabeth went so far as to list the business for sale, and even had a sale pending but that fell through.

Fast forward to today and the Ciccarelli's have regrouped and rebranded the market to focus on the gelato. They still offer a few staples and even pizza and subs but since June of this year the rebranding and renewed focus including having the whole family pitch in to keep costs down has been a success!

There really is a whole new feel to the business. The Ciccarelli's even have hopes of an expansion for next year when they hope to add a gelato trailer to the business that can offer catering and a mobile experience.
