These New Maine Laws Could Change Your Everyday Life

If you pay even a little bit of attention to what happens at the Maine State House you probably realize that the laws of Maine are always changing.

Every year a slew of new laws are added to the books.  In most cases, however, these changes are either very small (clarification on wording) or they pertain to things that do not affect our daily lives.  That being said, there are usually a few new laws that will directly affect your life.

This year, for example, the passage of a supplemental budget could mean that you will be getting a $300 check from the State of Maine government.  Assuming you don't make too much money, that is.

Speaking of money, if you are on the hunt for a new job, there is a new law regarding job listings that will probably make you happy.  Now, all but the smallest Maine employers will need to list a compensation range in their help wanted ads.  So, there's not chance that you will go through the process of applications and interviews only to find out that the job is a massive pay cut from what you are currently making.
