Kennebec Valley YMCA Hosts 27th Annual Rise & Shine 5k

According to the Kennebec Valley YMCA Facebook page, its that time of year again for their annual Rise and Shine 5k road race. The upcoming 5k road race set to happen September 25th, and it is the 27th year that this fantastic event has been in place.

All funds raised will go to benefit the annual Strong Kids Campaign, which seeks to give kids in Central Maine communities scholarships giving them access to attend swim lessons, Camp KV, and other programs that happen throughout the year. It's a fantastic opportunity to help kids in our area get opportunities to attend programs that they otherwise may never have been able to afford.

Registrations are happening now, and if you sign up early, you'll even save a few bucks, so don't wait.  You can register online by doing so HERE.

5:00am- Packet pick up and registration begins
6:15am - PACKET PICK UP & REGISTRATION CLOSES!
6:15am - Opening Remarks
6:30am - RISE N’ SHINE 5K STARTS!
6:44am - Potential 1st Finisher
7:15am - Potential Final Finisher
7:20am - Awards Ceremony

$32 race fee + $3 sign-up fee
$30 virtual race + $2.50 sign-up fee

Day of registration begins @5:30am
$37 race fee + $3 sign-up fee

All proceeds go to our Annual Strong Kids Campaign, giving kids in our community scholarships to swim lessons, Camp KV, and other Youth Programming.

Awards will be given to the fastest overall and fastest men and women in the following age categories:

• 1st male/female - overall
• 1st male/female
• 15 and under
• 15 - 18
• 19 - 29
• 30 - 39
• 40 - 49
• 50 - 59
• 60 - 69
• 70 +
