According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, a man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of his brother.

The press release explains that just before 6:30 on Monday evening, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Route 2 in Rumford.

When they arrived at the home, they located a male shooting victim.  According to the press release, 23 year old Drew McKenna, who is a resident of Rumford, was taken to  Rumford Hospital and then flown via Lifeflight to Maine Medical Center in Portland.  At the time of the writing of this article, he remains in critical condition.

Major Crimes Unit Detectives and members of the Maine State Police Evidence Response Team responded to the home to interview witnesses and process the scene.

Following the processing of the scene, the decision was made to arrest the victim's brother,  27 year old Shay Mckenna.

He was taken into custody at about 1 AM on Tuesday, December 20th.  Mckenna is being charged with Elevated Aggravated Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.  He is being held, without bail, at the Oxford County Jail.

The press release goes on to say:

Maine State Police Detectives and the Rumford Police Department continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
