Tuesday Morning Crash Leaves Maine Man Dead, Another Seriously Injured
A Tuesday morning crash has left one man dead and another battling for his life.
According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety's Shannon Moss, the crash happened at about 10 o'clock on Tuesday morning near Alton Grocery on Route 16 in Alton, Maine.
The press release goes on to explain that it appears that a 2014 Chevy Malibu was heading south when it crossed the centerline and hit a 2011 Buick Regal that was going north.
The Malibu was being driven by 42-year-old Matthew Parsons of LaGrange. The Buick was driven by 70-year-old Peter McCormack of Alton.
Sadly, Matthew Parsons died at the scene.
Peter McCormack was flown by LifeFlight to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with life-threatening injuries.
That section of Route 16 in Alton was shut down for several hours as first responders worked to help those involved, clean up the scene, and give State Troopers space to do a full crash reconstruction.
