I know I can't take full credit for this win, but...
Last week, I told you about a cat from Gardiner with a rather unusual name. The pretty little kitty's name is Pickles McButterpants the Muffin Slayer. Pickles was part of a contest put on by Nationwide Insurance, to determine the cat with the wackiest name in America. I think we can all agree that Pickles full name is amazing.
So what does he get for all this attention? A one-year subscription for pet toys and treats, and a $100 gift card. Although, I'm sure that's not for him.
In that post, I absolutely provided the links necessary to go and vote, and it would seem Mainers came through! Although, I imagine other people saw Pickles truly unique moniker and couldn't help but vote for the sweet feline. I mean really, considering the ludicrous nature of the contest to begin with, Pickles was a shoo-in.
This was a big win out of thousands of pets.
Last week, when I first told you about Pickles, he was at #26 in the rankings. Quite respectable, but still a long way to go. But sure enough, he pulled it off. Not that he had to do much, or even knew he was embroiled in a Battle Royale over whether his name could pass muster nationally. Even though we all knew the truth.
So what does he get for all this attention? A one-year subscription for pet toys and treats, and a $100 gift card. Although, I'm sure that's not for him. To celebrate, his owner, Kelli Hoover, got him the perfect reward. His favorite treat... a muffin! But, that didn't go quite as planned, according to WABI.
I got him a muffin, because he’s the Muffin Slayer, but in pure cat fashion, he turned his nose up at it because he was allowed to have it, so, he didn’t even enjoy the muffin I gave him... He goes through his phases, like most cats.
People too, Kelli. People too.
