Even though it looks as though there will be no minor league baseball season in 2020, thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic,  the Portland Sea Dogs are continuing to give back to the community.

The Portland Sea Dogs are teaming up with Maine Health, as well as a few other local businesses, for a blood drive on Wednesday, June 17th. This blood drive will take place at the Portland Elks Lodge located at 1945 Congress St. in Portland and go from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

If you are planning on attending and don’t want to sign up at the door you can schedule your donation time in advance HERE.

Just like the need of food donations for those who are food insecure, there is also a huge need for blood donations right now. There are less people leaving their homes due to COVID-19 which means there are less people donating blood. If you have time to donate blood please do, you never know whose life you could be saving.

Did you know: 1 pint of blood donated goes on to save 3 lives.
