It feels like we have had a pretty typical spring so far, right?  Without doing a deep dive on the weather from previous years we can't know for certain, of course.  But, based on the warm temperatures mixed with the occasional temperature drops, it feels pretty normal for spring.

Well, it looks like, in just about a week, we're going to get the heat turned up on us!  If you believe the predictions made by meteorologists, it looks like parts of Maine will see summerlike weather over the holiday weekend.

According to Weather.com, much of Central Maine (Augusta, Waterville, Lewiston, Auburn) can expect to see temperatures rise near the end of next week.

At this point, it looks like we're going to see partly sunny skies throughout the end of next week and into the weekend.  The temperatures on Saturday and Monday will be in the upper 70s.  For Sunday, May 28th, Central Maine could see temperatures in the low 80s!

Some organizations are suggesting that we could see even higher temps over the long weekend.  If it does happen, it would not be a big surprise.  We had a heatwave around Memorial Day last year and we had a late May heatwave in 2021, as well.

At this point, it looks as though the weather on the coast of Maine (Rockland, Camden, Portland) will be a lot cooler.  This is not really a surprise, given the fact that these places get a nice breeze off the Atlantic Ocean.

Obviously, we're still a week out from the holiday weekend.  A lot can change in that time.  We'll keep an eye on it.
