Even with a foot of snow set to blast Maine, there is good news for Mainers when the sound of their furnace kicks in. The average price for heating oil in Maine dropped another three cents per gallon.

According to the Governor's Energy Office, the statewide price for a gallon of heating oil is now at $3.03. Kerosene prices remained steady at $3.62 per gallon and propane dropped one cent this past week for a statewide average of $2.82.

Heating oil prices are 53 cents per gallon lower in Maine than one year ago. Kerosene is down 34 cents and propane is up 5 cents.
