The Farmers’ Almanac Says We’ll Have a Scorcher of a Summer – Maine, New Hampshire, & Massachusetts Take Note
For over two centuries, the Farmers' Almanac has been providing the residents of the United States with extended forecasts, sunrise/sunset times, dates for the phases of the moon, and other useful information.
For a while, last fall, we thought the era of the Farmers' Almanac was coming to an end. Peter Geiger, who had been publishing the tome for decades, had made the decision to end its publication. Fortunately, a company from New York decided to step in to save the almanac.
Hopefully, the almanac will be around for generations to come.
The Farmers' Almanac's Forecast For Summer in Maine
So, what does the almanac have to say about summer in Maine?
According to the latest edition of the Farmers' Almanac, much of New England, including Maine, New Hampshire, & Massachusetts will see a hot summer with frequent rain storms and thunderstorms.
It appears that there is a chance that we may get slammed by a late-summer hurricane, too.
The almanac says, in part:
The Northeast and Great Lakes regions will experience a mix of warm-to-hot conditions, with periods of high humidity and scattered thunderstorms. August brings a hurricane threat along the Atlantic Coast, potentially affecting areas from the Gulf Coast to Virginia.
What do you think of the almanac's forecast? Do you agree with it or are you skeptical about how a forecast can be made months out?
