Who Remembers Cottles Place Waterpark In Waterville?

I was reminiscing a little bit yesterday.  Now, I didn't grow up in Maine.  My dad was in the Army and we were stationed in Germany for most of my childhood.  But, there were a few years when I flew to Maine and spent the summertime with my grandparents.  I remember my grandfather taking me to a waterpark in Waterville.

So, I reached out to Facebook and asked our followers if they remembered the waterpark that used to be in Waterville.  Many came forward and posted that it was Cottles Place and it was located right around where Marden's is now.  I wonder why they closed?  You'd think a waterpark would be a huge hit in Central Maine.  They have 2 right next door to each other in Saco (Aquaboggan & Splashtown).

Thank you to Martha for sharing these pictures from Cottles Place.  For some reason, I remember it being much much bigger than that.  I know there's the waterpark in Waterville next to the Alfond Youth Center.
